Synopsis: Pedro Perez is an aspiring photographer who must decide whether to pawn his camera for a gun when he photographs the death of his friend in Tijuana, Mexico. Spanish with English subtitles.

Synopsis: A stop-motion animation comprised of over 2,000 photographs. The story illustrates the feeling and process that one goes through when preparing to travel overseas. It will leave the audience with a feeling of happiness and adventure.

Synopsis: After discovering old artifacts at the bottom of Lake Superior, a young girl witnesses forgotten stories and uncovers her mysterious past through an alternative narrative that leaps through time and questions reality.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Synopsis: The story of a man who has turned his back on the past. Every night he returns to the same empty streets, capturing the deserted city with his camera. But he is not alone.  A familiar figure appears in the night, invading his photographs and his consciousness. Forced to confront his lost love, the photographer is thrown into battle with his memories... and with himself.

SPARKS IN THE NIGHT

Synopsis: Set in a black-and-white 1940’s, this film humorously follows detective Leon Sparks as he closes in on notorious lawbreaker Jerry Walker and the Speeder Brothers. Working with a cast of fellow eighth-graders, the 13-year-old director encapsulates the mood, moral ambiguity, menace, and fun of the grimy city.

WAR-TORN

Synopsis: An Israeli soldier haunted by the memory of a bus bombing and a murdered loved one. A young Palestinian girl with nothing to lose. One ticking bomb. A balanced narrative set in Palestine that explores the harsh realities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the difficulty in finding peace in an environment so infused with fear and hate. Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles.

CHINESE ANTIQUE

Synopsis: Andy, a self-absorbed teenager, is forced to work at a struggling Chinese antique shop owned by Kuo, a close family friend. Although he is rebellious and unwilling at first, Andy's attitude slowly changes as he begins to understand Kuo and his struggles. English and Mandarin with English subtitles.
