LARGEST INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR 2013 FESTIVAL
SEATTLE, WA – The largest youth film festival in the world, NFFTY (National Film Festival for Talented Youth), is now accepting entries for its 2013 festival occurring April 25-28, 2013 in Seattle, WA. In its seventh year, NFFTY brings together the best young directors and future leaders of the entertainment industry for 4 days of films, networking, panels, and parties. NFFTY Alumni have already begun breaking into Hollywood as commercial directors, independent film directors, animators, actors, and more. Over 1,000 young directors from over 40 U.S. states and 20 countries are expected to enter their films into the festival, with hopes of being selected to have their film screened and participate at this life-changing event.
“NFFTY is a door that is opening a big number of opportunities for my future career,” says Airokhsh Faiz Qaisary, a 21-year-old filmmaker from Afghanistan whose film premiered at the 2012 festival. “It’s amazing to see how connected the world is by seeing trends in submissions. Through their work these filmmakers capture and provide a voice to issues and stories that are important to today’s youth. We are lucky to be able to see the world through the eyes of tomorrow’s top directors,” states NFFTY Artistic Director and Founder, Jesse Harris.
Founded to nurture, promote and encourage the next generation of filmmakers to inspire, lead and entertain the world with their stories, NFFTY has hit on a powerful need, leading the festival to grow exponentially each year. Now with over 12,000 in expected attendance, youth filmmaking is getting the respect it deserves. 2013’s festival will also feature NFFTY’s second annual Future of Film Expo, where filmmakers can visit exhibitor booths, participate in hands-on workshops and panels with the top film schools, film industry experts and film technology companies.
NFFTY is accepting entries for the 2013 film festival until January 31, 2013. Entries can be submitted online to www.nffty.org/submit. For updates and news on the 2013 NFFTY go to www.facebook.com/nffty or www.NFFTY.org.
