#THUMBS – NFFTY Reviews “Hitchcock

Cue the musical score to the shower scene of Psycho, this film is scary good! It is not often we get to see a film about the life and style of an infamous filmmaker and while this film is based on the one and only Alfred Hitchcock, it is done as such, in an Alfred Hitchcock fashion. With a few suspenseful moments we never forget the spirit of Hitchcock, and the storyline will keep you on your toes. The film hones in on the time he filmed his prime piece of work, Psycho, and we see Hitchcock’s trials and hardship while he was filming. Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren give a splendid performance keeping true to their characters! This film has laughter, heart, obsession for blondes, and will only make you love Hitchcock all the more!

We give it: #HAPPYTHUMBS

Have you seen it? What did you think of it?

  1. Although Hopkins continued in theatre (most notably at the National Theatre as Lambert Le Roux in Pravda by David Hare and Howard Brenton and as Antony in Antony and Cleopatra opposite Judi Dench as well as in the Broadway production of Peter Shaffer’s Equus, directed by John Dexter) he gradually moved away from it to become more established as a television and film actor. ;
