Cherryl S. Espinoza is an award winning Producer and Line Producer with a successful track record across multiple platforms and projects including virtual reality, music videos, film, television, commercials, and PSAs. Espinoza began exploring Virtual Reality (VR) as an Oculus Launchpad Bootcamp fellow in 2016 and 2017. In 2018 she directed an immersive and interactive music documentary and produced a prototype for an immersive and interactive murder mystery. Currently, she is producing a Mixed Reality project using 360 video, photogrammetry, 3d modeling, and Augmented Reality. Cherryl has worked with big name brands like HBO, HULU, NBC and more. She has also worked with a plethora of renowned directors, actors and musicians such as Spike Lee, Madonna, Queen Latifah, and The Notorious B.I.G. to name a few. Espinoza’s work has been honored by the Showtime, Martin Ritt Foundation, Stan Kamen Foundation and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (College Producing Award), and has garnered numerous national and international awards.
Marlon Fuentes is a multi-disciplinary designer, researcher, and entrepreneur. Among his fields of study, Marlon currently works with peers to develop ways of utilizing immersive technology for education, design, and accessibility. He is also a VR Producer at BuzzFeed in Los Angeles. Marlon and his team recently won the Grand Prize in VR at the MIT Media Lab Hackathon 2017. Prior to that he won Best Mobility Award for a navigation application created for vision impaired mobile users he and a team developed at the 2015 Google SF Makeathon for assistive technology. Marlon was also chosen to be a 2015 Lean Startup Conference Ambassador and holds a degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA where he conducted ethnography on people’s relationship with music, technology, and design.
